About the Texas Forest Trail
The Texas Forest Trail Region represents East Texas within the Texas Heritage Trails Program. Spanning the Piney Woods from the Red River to the Gulf Coast, the Forest Trail works with communities, museums, historic sites, and tourism partners to promote the historic places, cultural traditions, and natural landscapes that define the region.
Through partnerships, storytelling, and regional promotion, the Forest Trail helps connect visitors with the people and places that shape East Texas — from historic downtowns and rural landscapes to festivals, museums, and community traditions that continue to define the character of the region today.
